I started blogging in 2008. I just started and never thought about doing something to increase the number of visitors. I commented on other blogs, it was the only thing I did to connect with people. For years it was enough. Twitter and Facebook were beyond me. I did register at both sites, but never really used the accounts. I didn’t “get” Twitter and didn’t like Facebook.
When I started doing Blogging Your Way Boot Camp one of the conditions was having a Facebook and Twitter account. So I unearthed my accounts hoping I would not need to use them. I was wrong of cause… For our first homework assignment we had to use Twitter. And I got really nice responses and followers and I started to like it. I also downloaded the Twitter app on my iPhone and somehow the app made Twitter more understandable for me.
I also made a page at Facebook for my blog. It is still bare as I am trying to find out more about Facebook and how to let it co-operate with WordPress. I really have to dive into that.

Another thing I really like is Instagram. I love to take photo’s and Instagram let’s me share snapshots spontaneously without having to think about it a lot, while photo’s taken with my camera needs editing, add watermarks and uploading etc before I can use them on my blog. And now that they have their own site to show off the photo’s it is perfect.
I also love Pinterest. And, ehm, I am addicted to it. I use it to bookmark great finds on the internet, for instance when I was surfing the net for inspiration for our (soon ready) new bathroom. I seldom repin from Pinterest. I make an effort to credit the photo that I pin to the person, blog or site that owns the rights to the image.
So, you can say I have embraced social media now. Shows how people’s thoughts can change within a short period.
I would love it if you could join me on any of the platforms. You can also leave a link to your social media accounts in the comments section, I’d love to visit.

That’s awesome that your finding friends everywhere!
I can barely handle my blog and facebook.. lol! I just don’t ever see Twitter in my future.
