Panorama photography: XL beauty

I love to photograph, I always have. From the Instamatic when I was a child to my digital camera now. I remember the suspense when I was able to pick up the photos  after a long wait to see what had become of my efforts to take a nice shot. When I started to work I bought a SLR, an Olympus OM 10 with several lenses, filters and a tripod. When I travelled I had to carry an extra bag if I wanted to take photo’s. I think I bought my first digital camera about 10 years ago. Now I own a Panasonic FZ28, which is “just”  a point and shoot. It’s outdated, but still serving me well. A few years a go I bought my first iPhone. I now own the iPhone 4s with a pretty good lens and loads of great apps. One of them allows me to take panorama photo’s. It let’s make take several overlapping photo’s of a scene which it stitches together to a very nice looking panorama.

These photo’s I took during our last stay in Lugano, Switzerland (click on the photo for a larger version). The canton Ticino is a beautiful area we hardly can get enough of. I always make loads of photo’s and this year also for the first time about a dozen panorama photo’s. For these photo’s I used AutoStitch. The native app of iPhone, Camera, now has its own panorama function which is also very nice.

View from Monte Tamaro towards the Gotthard tunnel. Lago Maggiore is on the left (you can’t see it though)

View on Lake Lugano and Monte San Salvatore from the balcony of our hotel.

Are you into panorama photography?
