On my Wishlist: Canon 100D/SL1

All photo’s on this that are made by me are made with a Panasonic Lumix FZ 28 (except for the post about analog photography). I bought the camera about 5 years ago and have always been happy with it. Earlier this year I decided that it was time to expand my reach a bit, but I wasn’t sure what kind of camera I wanted. I had a slr in the analog era and surely don’t want to be lugging around a lot of gear. I do like the quality of photo’s made with a dslr and the control you have over the photo that is being made. Especially depth of field as I don’t have it now with my Pany. So I have been looking into system camera’s and dslr’s , weighing the pro’s and con’s until I read that Canon will release a dslr in the EOS series that is about 25% smaller and lighter han the regular camera’s from the EOS series, the Canon 100D (SL1 in the US). I have been searching the internet for reviews and they are very favorable. Some think that the camera is too small. I can understand why, but I am not a bloke with big hands. It is a bit larger than my Pany (without the lens).

The kit comes with a 18-55 mm IS STM lens., which also is new. I haven’t bought it yet. It is available through the internet, but I want to see it in person before I spent that much money and I haven’t spotted it yet.

What do you think? Would you buy this camera?
